Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation.
My name is Sarah Rose Goldfinch, and I’m the therapist behind Acorn & Oak Therapy.
I hold a Masters in Social Work from Salem State University, and am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a Special Education teacher.
I work with kids age 5 and up, and adults across the lifespan. Areas that I have extensive clinical experience and training in are: child & adolescent therapy, trauma responses (PTSD, C-PTSD, Dissociative disorders), developmental trauma, adoption & foster care, neurodiversity, identity exploration, life transitions (moving, divorce, etc.), gender affirming care, chronic illness and disability. I am committed to a therapeutic approach that is LGBTQIA+ inclusive, neurodiversity affirming, disability rights oriented, anti-racist, and culturally responsive.
I am deeply passionate about helping people across the lifespan find a way to exist in the world that brings them peace, joy, and satisfaction. Trauma, neurodiversity, systemic barriers, or just the complexities of our modern world can create barriers to building a life that feels good. I work with people to help them heal and find their authentic selves so they can build a right-for-them life.
Some of the things that are part of my "right-for-me" life include long walks in the woods, amateur stargazing, arts and crafts projects, quirky fantasy novels, and time with friends and family.
